Happy Tuesday all! Before you know it Thanksgiving will be here. I am actually in shock with how fast things are going. Today I am sharing my Christmas gift update, holiday music, the significance of the magazine I am holding, nostalgic cookies, and resting after vaction.
1. Christmas gift shopping update
Are you like me and just feel a sense of relief when you cross one more name off your list? Thats how I feel right now. I am done with Aubrey and almost done with Claire. I just need one more thing for her like a toy and then I am done. I have to get a couple stocking stuffers but that is easy. I have a bday gift purchased and another person off my list. I have decided what to buy for a couple other people. It is just a matter of buying them.
Buying a few people at a time really makes it more economical and affordable. I like taking my time rather than struggling at the end. Every name i scratch off a name off my list is another sigh of relief.
2. Holiday music: Too soon?
The other day I was in the car driving and I heard one of our local stations turned into all Holiday music. Normally I wait until after Thanksgiving but I have been feeling the spirit a little earlier this year. Is it too soon to already be listening to Holiday music? Is it too early for the station to play holiday music? I feel with the year being the way it is, we all need a little extra cheer.
3. Savannah Magazine
About a month ago, Savannah Magazine reached out to me to use a photo I took last Holiday season of the fountain in Forsyth Park. In return I was sent the magazine for free.
I have read this magazine before and enjoy it. It is a great local resource for all things Savannah. I am very excited to read it! If you are local to the area, pick up a copy for yourself!
4. Old Fashioned butter cookies
I always love finding things that bring some nostalgia. I recently had that feeling with some old fashioned butter cookies. I found a tin at Walmart for less than $3 and it reminded me of the tin of cookies my grandma used to have at her house.
No the cookies don't taste fresh and homemade, but they are comforting and brought back some positive memories of my youth. Plus the tin is so cute and perfect for storing those freshly baked Christmas cookies. I definitely plan on baking this year. Now that the kids keep getting older, I try to give them those memories of Christmas cookie baking. My oldest Aubrey likes to help me bake
5. A vacation after a vacation...?
Is it me or is going on vacation sometimes so exhausting that you need a rest from your vacation? That's how I feel right now. We got home on Saturday from Chicago and travelling is so exhausting especially with two kids. Most of the laundry was done but having to put everything away after walking through the airports.
I would love to have a vacation after the vacation. Unfortunately, it does not work out that way. We had sunday to relax a bit. We primarily stayed in our PJs and lounge clothes.
As always, I wish you a fantastic and safe week.
