Lately I have been in a very plaid mood. I think there is just something about Christmas and winter where plaid feels so festive and warm. I've gathered a roundup of my newest plaids, but I expect that more will be added to this collection... I will review them from the top down.
First up are these shoes. How perfect are these! The tartan plaid is oh so cute plus the little bow....OMG! I was torn between these and the red pair but since I already have red flats I figured I would go with these. I don't have anything green and very little blue. Seriously, you can't go wrong with either color. These cuties are from JCrew Factory.
Next is a great gingham button down top from Old Navy. It is a great top to wear alone or wear under sweaters. It is a great relaxed fit and fits tts. You can even wear it unbottoned over a tee.
This Land's End flannel plaid dress is life for the winter. It is a nice thick and soft flannel that is great alone but you can pair a puffer vest over it or even a cardigan if you still want a little extra warmth. It also has pockets! (I am a sucker for pockets.). You can wear flats, booties, or even boots. A natural or brown colored boot would look great!
The next plaid is another Old Navy find and my favorite part of this one is the adorable ruffle trim around the button holes. It adds such a cute, feminine detail when sometimes plaid doesn't look or feel so feminine. It also comes in a super cute black plaid as well. I've paired it with a skirt but you can also pair it with jeans, chinos, or dressy pants. It is great alone but pair it under a cardigan as well. That is why I love button downs so much. They are such versatile pieces.
The Land's End flannel is the perfect winter staple. It seriously comes in ton of colors and is so super warm. It is another great versatile piece. It is great layered under sweaters or cardigans, put it under a puffer vest, or unbutton it over a cute striped or colorful tee. When the weather warms up you can use it tied around your waist with a tee dress or with a pair of jeans and tee. It seriously is so multipurpose. This is the kind of shirt I would have in multiple colors in the closet (I will be stocking up on more!). They are comfortable and relaxed.
This Target plaid dress is just so fun. It is thinner but flowy and airy. It has a feminine feel and the tie waist is always flattering. The little buttons on top are just for decor but the perfect added touch. I love this color and I pair it with black boots, brown boots, loafers, flats, mules or heels. It is really a super versatile dress.
I hope you have been inspired to add a little more plaid into your winter wear. Happy Plaid-urday!
